1What is IT Asset Disposal?
IT Asset Disposal is the process of securely and environmentally sustainably disposing of IT equipment, such as computers, servers, printers and other electronic devices that are unwanted, outdated, or no longer in use.
2What happens to my old IT equipment when I dispose of it?
After collection, old IT equipment is transported to our secure facility, where data storage media is destroyed. Some components are recycled, while others are refurbished for resale in support of the circular economy.
3How do you ensure the security of my data during IT asset disposal?
Certus Data Erasure is used to securely erase data and a certificate of erasure is provided. Alternatively, the data is physically destroyed and a certificate of destruction is provided.
4What standards do you comply with?
We are compliant with NIST 800-88, Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and all applicable regulations.
5Do you provide certificates of destruction?
Yes, we provide recycling certificates/hard drive destruction certificates/data erasure certificates that verifies that your IT Equipment was securely disposed of in compliance with all relevant regulations.
6Do you offer on-site data destruction services?
Yes, we offer on-site data destruction where your hard drives are crushed at your location.
7How much does the service cost?
There are no fees associated with the collection and disposal of IT assets.
8Are there rebates offered?
Rebates are calculated on a case-by-case basis, considering factors such as the age, cosmetic condition and marketability of the item for remarketing purposes.
9Which areas do you service?
We do nationwide collections.
